About the Author
Lâu Tsí-û
is a Taiwanese feminist and sci-fi author who has won various awards across the years. Her short story collection, Self-Served Goddesses was published in 2020 and she has recently published the novel, Beyond the Promised Land in 2024.
About the Translator
Jenna Tang
is a Taiwanese writer, educator, and translator who translates between Mandarin Chinese, Latin American Spanish, French, and English. Her translations and essays are published in McSweeney’s, Lit Hub, The Paris Review, Latin American Literature Today, World Literature Today, Catapult, AAWW, Words Without Borders, and elsewhere. She just published her debut book in translation, Taiwanese author Lin Yi-Han’s novel, Fang Si-Chi’s First Love Paradise from HarperVia in May 2024.
